Allen, Carol Ann. Me Against the World: Gavin Blod and his Struggle With Hollywood. New York: Harkwirk Press, 1988.
Summary: Allen wrote this book when Blod was perhaps at his worst reputation and does her best to defend the politics that were keeping him down. She does, however, neglect much biographical detail that also contributed to Blod's decline, such as his incessant whoring and glue-sniffing.

Dennis, Jennifer. Five Years With Gavin Blod. DeKalb: Tso Long Productions, 2001.
Summary: A fascinating look at the woman who alleged she was Blod's mistress for fourteen years (her real name was Etta Berger), although more recent research suggests certain embellishments on her part. Click here to read a sample chapter.

Travis, Pete. "Who Said He Was All That Bad?: A Retrospective of Gavin Blod's Short-Lived Film Career." Rolled Rock March, 1992: 34.
Summary: Travis half-heartedly defends Blod's acting ability, comparing it to the likes of a pizza: "It may taste bad, but it still fills you up, and it absorbs all the alcohol in your body so you don't get sick."
